Details

Interpretation services are essential to making our cities accessible for people with communication/language barriers. However, these services certainly are not without their fair share of challenges and issues which could benefit from ongoing design and re-imagination.

Help create better services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community by journey-mapping existing interpretation booking services, and connecting with users of such services to gather their stories.

Your goals will include uncovering pain points and brainstorming potential solutions alongside our team of designers, developers, and business leaders who are passionate about accessibility!

Deliverables

- market research

- user interviews

- journey mapping

- ideation, brainstorming, wireframing

Mentorship

Riipen students will be able to have meetings with the design lead for Habitat Learn North America, where they can discuss progress, ask questions, and demonstrate where they are so far. We will support the students in the creation of great research and interview questions. We will also be available to steer the student in the right direction towards finding appropriate people and services to engage with/investigate.

We will connect students to our in-house slack chats, and provide them with temporary access to digital tools such as miro, figma, notion, etc.
