Overview
You are required to prepare a Work in Progress (WIP) Presentation on your CLN Work Integrated Learning (WIL) project focused on the managing business operations challenge presented in the client brief.
The purpose of this assessment is for the Collaborative Learning Network (CLN) to work with the industry partner to prepare a Work in Progress Presentation that details understanding of the client problem and the work to date on the development of a solution to the client brief. This is an important in class activity designed to increase learner engagement.
Assessment Details
CLNs are asked to prepare a 15-minute presentation (15 PowerPoint slide limit plus cover slide, agenda slide, reference(s) slide) Work in Progress Presentation on your CLN Work Integrated Learning (WIL) project focused on the managing business operations challenge presented in the client brief.
Time limit: 15 minutes plus 5 Minutes Question and Answer (Q & A)

Students are asked to address their understanding of the client problem, relevant managing business operations theory, show synthesis of the overall research including lessons from practice, identify innovation opportunities and give insight into possible recommendations.

Overview
CLNs are required to work with an industry partner on a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) project and prepare a Business Report with your solution to the WIL managing business operations challenge. The industry partner will participate in the assessment of the Business Report
The purpose of this assessment is for the Collaborative Learning Network (CLN) to work with the industry partner to prepare a Business Report that solves the managing business operations problem presented by that industry partner.
The Business Report will provide the industry partner with the necessary information, presented in a logical, factual manner, for them to make informed business decisions about the issue, and to develop competent future business strategies in the area of concern.
Assessment Details
Students will work in CLNs on an industry project with a WIL partner organization on a managing business operations challenge. The WIL partner organization will provide the brief for the project and appropriate access to relevant information. The client will define the project within the subject field of managing business operations relevant to this course.
Word limit: 4000 words (+/- 10%) plus a 250 word (max) Executive Summary plus references.
In this project students will present work in progress to the class (Assessment Task 3A), a company presentation (Assessment Task 3B) and a business report (Assessment Task 3C).
The following structure is suggested for this Assessment Task 3C, the business report:
- Cover page
- Executive summary
- Table of contents

A quality business report should aim to get a blend of references – text book(s), journal articles, media articles, company annual reports. It is envisaged that 12 references well chosen and well used references is a sound benchmark as a minimum.
The course facilitator and the WIL partner will provide a detailed written report as feedback.
