The Level UP program (powered by Riipen) allows employers to bring on Canadian post-secondary students for 80-hour paid projects. Students are paid a $1400 CAD stipend on completion of the project by Riipen. Your company is not required to provide payment to students. Read more about the program here.
Submit a project here for our Level UP coordinators to review. Once approved, students will apply to your project directly - individually, or in teams. Students may be from any Canadian post-secondary institution, and in any academic program. Get specific in your project description about the skills you're looking for in order to attract the most suitable applicants.
While deliverables will vary depending on the project scope, at the conclusion of the project you should have a completed report or other assets that you can use to further your business goals. Maintaining communication with students throughout the project will lead to better results.
Project Examples
Does your organization have a visual arts, photography, or video production project you need assistance with?
Student will work with your company to identify your needs and provide actionable materials and recommendations.
Projects should be approximately 80 hours in length, though our coordinators can work with you to resize the project as needed.
Project activities might include but are not limited to:
- Branding and graphic design. Students can complete graphic design pieces using your logo and branding, such as a branded whitepaper, slide deck, and other assets. Alternately, students can undertake a logo redesign for your business.
- Creating illustrations and animations.
- Editing photographs. (Note: as Level UP projects need to be completed remotely, students would not be able to do any on-site photography.)
- Producing film, video, moving image, sound and other media works for screens. Using media and technology to create a story.
- Interaction design. Students can use process-driven research, technological, and evaluation methods to help ensure that your products provide a great user experience.
- Industrial design. Students can assess aesthetic and user-focused considerations of products and provide solutions for form, function, sustainability, and physical ergonomics.
- Communications design. Students can apply visual design skills to develop comprehensible communication of messages and experiences.
